FAQ

  • What is the Therapeutic Reasoning for Athletic Performance & Recovery course?

The course was created to teach you, the therapist, how to think, not apply a sequence of pre-thought movements. It is to empower you to think on your feet, develop short and long-term treatment plans, and work confidently in one of the most challenging settings: athletics. We look at the importance of movement for every sport and how to apply our skills to each individual athlete.

  • What am I going to learn in the 1 Day Course?

Students will go through the components of a Sports Medicine team for an athlete, as a strong network is crucial for an athlete's longevity! You will better understand the most common muscles used during sport play AND the most common injuries that occur to said muscles, while honing in on your observational skills. You will go through client assessment protocols within our scope and the most common homework athletes can do between sessions. Then with all that new knowledge and fresh thinking, we will create treatment plans specific to an athlete.

  • What does the 1 Day Course look like?

The 1 Day Course will consist of two parts during your 7.5 hrs. The first part of the day is an interactive lecture discussing: The importance of observational skills when assessing your athlete (IE. watching the athlete squat, run and watching for imbalances in those movements). We'll watch sport film to observe the importance of movement observation! The second part of the course is: A group case study, where we will develop treatment plans, using the skills you already know with the addition of more detailed observational skills, for specific athlete needs.

  • What next?

You will not only have the new founded confidence to think beyond the table to address your athlete's needs, but you will also become part of the PhysWiz network. Giving Sports Medicine teams around the United States and World access to the top therapists that truly understand the importance of movement and assessment protocols for their athletes.
